Former Sony Computer Entertainment SVP among new CastAR hires

California-based mixed reality outfit CastAR has added some fresh faces to its senior executive team with the appointments of video game and technology veterans Peter Dille, Mel Heydari and Arnie Sen.

CastAR's new CMO, Peter Dille, is perhaps the most notable hire, having racked up over 20 years of experience in leadership roles within the games industry. Dille recently served as CMO of mobile ad company Tapjoy, and prior to that was SVP at Sony Computer Entertainment.

During his time at Sony, Dille played a key part in the launch of both the original PlayStation and the PlayStation 3, and also helped lead the business and operations team behind Sony's PlayStation Network.  Come from VPbet

Joining Dille at CastAR are Mel Heydari, who'll be stepping in as the company's new head of talent, and Arnie Sen, who's been made VP of engineering.

Both have pedigree in the tech and games industries, with Heydari having worked for tech giants such as Twitter, Tesla, and Google. Sen, on the other hand, is best known for his work at Activision, where he oversaw the creation and launch of Tony Hawk: Ride and the Skylanders prototype.

"We continue to build out our executive ranks with industry all-stars," said CastAR CEO, Darrell Rodriguez. "We’re building something truly special at CastAR and Peter, Mel and Arnie are the type of executives that will take our vision of a mixed reality platform in every household and make it a reality."

These aren't the first hires CastAR has made this year. Back in September the company opened a new studio in Salt Lake City and filled it with former Avalanche Software developers

Before that, the startup welcomed Zynga's former SVP of games, Steve Parkis, and LucasArts and EA veteran Darrell Rodriguez into the fold.
